Hotel ibis Paris Bastille Opera 11ème

The location worked really well for our student group, with several metro stations a short walk away and plenty of places to eat or buy groceries nearby. The rooms were immaculate and well cared for, with comfortable beds and linens. Getting the accommodation arranged was easy. The front desk staff were friendly and professional in every interaction, before the trip and during it. Payment went smoothly, and they did everything they could to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We'd gladly stay here on a future trip.

The neighbourhood is lively, with bars, restaurants, and a great cafe just a few metres from the hotel. The bed was comfortable, and the small room was fine for a few days. For the price, the stay was okay, but a few basics could be better: there was just one bottle of shampoo that doubled as soap, no conditioner, and no hand towels. It's hard to see how leaving those out saves much, and details like that affect the guest experience.

The hotel is clean, well run, and very well located, with friendly, helpful staff. The room itself is a basic no-frills setup, but a few things were frustrating. There was no safe, so I had to carry my valuables whenever I went out. The heavy blackout curtain had no sheer layer behind it, and since the room faced the street, I had to keep it shut while dressing, leaving the room dark all the time. The shower was tiny and had nowhere to put my soap or shampoo. Its water pressure also kept swinging from scalding hot to freezing.

After three nights, I'd definitely come back. The location is fantastic, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and public transport options. The staff were very friendly, especially Joshua and Fatima, and the bed was comfortable enough. The room was quite small and felt a little dated, like it could use some care. Still, it's a good value hotel for a short stay, and I left with a smile.
