ibis Paris Vaugirard Porte de Versaille

The staff were so helpful and lovely. The rooms are on the small side, but that’s pretty standard for Paris. A nice hotel if you’re looking to stay in the 15th.

Djina made breakfast such a lovely part of our mornings. She was incredibly kind and helpful, always greeting us with a warm smile. The breakfast itself was delicious and felt special, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel is also very well placed for getting around. At reception, Talia kindly helped us arrange a taxi and made sure things went smoothly. I’d happily return and recommend it. It felt well worth the price.

Alejandro at reception was fantastic, and gave us five star service. The housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast lady was great too. Breakfast was good, and the hotel is well located near a subway station. Those parts of the stay were very good. The room had some odd bathroom problems. I’m pretty tall, but even I found the toilet too high, and the toilet paper was nearly impossible to reach. The bathtub was narrow, and its fixed glass shower screen covered only half the tub, so water ended up all over the floor. I’ve had similar odd, inconvenient bathrooms at other Accor hotels, including ibis and Mercure. Something should be done about it. The worst part was arriving to a really frustrating situation with the front desk. We’d requested a high floor, called several times, and were assured we’d get a particular room. When we arrived, Benjamin said it had already been taken. He offered another high-floor room that needed cleaning, so we agreed to wait. He handed us keys in the meantime, but when we went upstairs, that room was occupied too. Back downstairs, Benjamin denied giving us the high-floor room and said he’d written its number on the card sleeve. There was no number on it. He quickly took the sleeve, wrote down a different room number than the one he’d said he’d give us, and handed it back with a childish grin. He didn’t apologize. Then Talia, whom we hadn’t spoken with before, sided with her coworker and lectured us about how we should behave instead of apologizing. She even asked why we were so determined to have a high-floor room. Both staff members tried to tell us the lower-floor rooms were the same. It was unbelievable to be challenged about our preference like that. Neither apologized, and Benjamin seemed amused. Once it was clear they weren’t going to help, I stopped discussing it. Be prepared for a lecture from Talia and a smirk from Benjamin if you’re upset about how they handled things. It was extraordinary, but that was our experience. Alejandro, on the other hand, was wonderful and very kind, and I’m grateful he did his best.

It was a quiet spot, tucked on a smaller street away from the big avenues, and very convenient for the Porte de Versailles exhibition center. The staff were really nice, especially the woman at breakfast. We had a good stay.
