Lafayette Hotel

We found a clean room with everything we needed for sleeping, including a private bathroom, and the staff were friendly and helpful when we booked at short notice. Our previous accommodation had been awful, so we were lucky they had space. Getting to public transport was easy, just a 200-meter walk, and the location was excellent. Breakfast was the one downside: basic for the price. You can skip it and head toward Gare Du Noor train station, where there are plenty of other options. This isn’t a five-star hotel, but it’s a good choice if you care more about cost than star ratings. I’d recommend it to friends and kept the business card for a future trip.

The hotel exposed customer data through a third-party system, and I was scammed as a result. I trusted the hotel and accepted a payment request sent on WhatsApp, which turned out to be fraudulent. They later said they had informed me, but that message came hours after I’d already been scammed. The email was entirely in French, hard for a foreign guest to understand, poorly structured, and looked like an automated notification. For something this serious, they should have called customers directly. I lost money because of this hotel. It was the worst reservation experience of my life.

The first-floor room worked perfectly for my disability and would suit someone with mobility issues. We could see a lot of Paris without needing to take many buses or metro rides, and the hotel was among the cheapest we found for this period without requiring too much walking, which mattered especially for me. The staff were very kind. There was also a lovely little lady with black fur and whiskers who said hello several times and asked to be petted. The room was quite hot without AC, and I’m glad we weren’t there during a heatwave. I also think the room could use a deep clean from time to time. For what I paid, the hotel was very nice.

A good option for a short visit or a tight budget, and it’s clean enough for the price. The metro 7 stop is right next to the hotel, so getting around is easy. It can be noisy, so bring earplugs.
