My mother is elderly and can’t manage stairs, yet the building has no elevator and nobody offered her any help or consideration. The lack of empathy and respect was shocking. After two stressful days, I felt so disappointed and humiliated that I left, even though I still had paid nights remaining. The trouble started when I arrived at Le Petit Borda. I had booked a double room with a private shower and toilet, but they gave me a single room with a shared shower instead. When I raised this, the staff were dismissive and unhelpful. After a long, exhausting discussion, they finally agreed to move us the next day, but the “new” room on the 4th floor was in terrible, neglected condition. The hotel’s cleanliness, maintenance, and service were all far below an acceptable standard. This was an absolute nightmare and, by far, one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, whether traveling alone, with family, or with elderly people. Save yourself the trouble and pick a hotel that actually respects its guests.

The cockroach incident was the point where I had to leave. After I told the front desk, a worker came up and crushed it with his shoe right in front of me. I was so disgusted I vomited, and I’m still genuinely traumatized by it. The room was dirty, the hygiene was shocking, and the pillow was torn and stained, so it couldn’t be used. I couldn’t sleep. This was my first time in Paris and I’d been so excited, but the hotel ruined the trip. I’d booked just one night, yet left immediately for the airport to wait for my flight. Worst place I’ve ever stayed. I can’t recommend it to anyone who cares about their health, comfort, or peace of mind.

We got there at 11 p.m. after booking through Expedia, and the room looked nothing like the pictures. Cockroaches were coming out of the walls and crawling across the bathroom floor. When the hostess opened the bathroom door, it was humid inside, with mold spreading from the shower and holes exposed in the walls. The bed was a futon with two very old, flat decorative pillows that didn’t match. We started to leave right away. I asked the young woman at reception for our city tax back or a refund because of the hygiene, but she said it wasn’t her responsibility and argued with us. As we were leaving, she chased us out and punched my partner in the head. We ended up on the streets of Paris at midnight, urgently calling nearby hotels to find somewhere last minute. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had on an international trip. Do not stay here.

We left in the middle of the night because the room made us itchy. It smelled bad, had no proper blanket, and a toilet pipe ran through it, making a flushing noise about once an hour. There wasn’t even a sign with the hotel’s name out front, and the hotel had no proper reception. The shared toilet we used had no toilet paper and looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in a week. We’d booked what was advertised as a standard double room, but it had no toilet or bathroom. I complained to the owner, who told me to contact Agoda. This doesn’t feel acceptable for a hotel room.

We waited for hours and still weren’t given a room. Then they refused to check us in without explaining why. The staff were rude and dishonest, and treated us terribly. The lobby was filthy, the atmosphere hostile, and the place felt unsafe. This is a disgrace, not a hotel, and it felt like a scam aimed at tourists. We wasted money and left humiliated and stressed. This place should be shut down.
