Hotel Luxembourg Parc

The main problem was the constant noise. We could hear people walking around, doors slamming, and people talking in the hallway until the early hours. Noise cancelling headphones are an absolute must. Otherwise, it's a quaint, well located hotel with access to the metro and local attractions. The rooms were nice and clean, and the staff were very pleasant.

The staff were lovely and very helpful, though the manageress didn't come across as warm or friendly. The rooms were rather tatty and smelled mouldy, even though everything was very clean and the bed linen and towels were fluffy. The balcony was huge and my husband enjoyed smoking his pipe there, but its furniture and plants were run down. There was no view of the Luxembourg gardens, just a high fence. We had no tea or coffee facilities, wine in the mini bar, shampoo, or complimentary water. My husband went downstairs and paid €40 for a very average red wine after staff said it wouldn't cost much. Getting in to shower meant stepping into a high, narrow bath with a plastic curtain, which wasn't comfortable. The hotel is around a 15-minute walk from the Seine and Metro.

The junior suite was excellent, the staff were wonderful, and the location was great. Fantastic hotel.

My wife and I started our honeymoon in Paris at Hôtel Luxembourg Parc, and it was a perfect beginning to our vacation. The staff gave us five-star hospitality and were so thoughtful. We spent three weeks traveling in the Côte d'Azur afterward, which was lovely, but we kept thinking about our stay at the hotel.
