Magnificent Apartment - 2br/6p - Republique

Terrible experience, with no humanity at all. We booked this accommodation for a trip at the end of October. A few days before leaving, we had a death in the family, but still did everything we could to avoid cancelling outright. The property refused any solution. They wouldn't let us move the dates and keep the payment as a voucher, even though our requested new dates cost less. We offered to pay a penalty so we wouldn't lose the full amount, but they wouldn't budge or show any understanding or sensitivity toward a sudden, painful situation. They'd probably say, “it's the rules.” You have an apartment in central Paris and earn more than €1,000 for a weekend, come on. They asked us for a “death certificate,” as if they knew what Italian bureaucracy is like. We were only asking for a little humanity and cooperation, which they clearly don't have. Sadly, people say Parisians aren't exactly the kindest, and this felt like proof.
