But the place feels lifeless, and the concierge's superior manner and endless explanations make it feel weighed down by bureaucracy. Courtesy was noticeably lacking. They try to steer you toward booking directly, even though other platforms show lower prices than theirs. When you point that out, they get irritated and unprofessional. I wouldn't return, since other hotels offer the same standards without the unnecessary lecturing.

We nearly let the hotel's Google rating put us off, but there was no reason to worry. The room was huge, comfortable, and lovely, and the hotel was spotless. Staff were incredibly friendly and anticipated what we needed instead of waiting for us to ask, which made all the difference. The location is fantastic, near great shopping and tourist spots but tucked far enough off the beaten path to stay quiet. Several Metro stations were an easy walk away, making it simple to get around town. This is what a nice hotel should be, and we'd gladly stay again.

I really like the hotel's décor. There are lots of thoughtful details in the room, and the atmosphere feels relaxing, calm, warm, and friendly, more like home than a commercial place. The service is great, and the breakfast is very good.

The room problems were there for our whole stay: the bathroom light stayed broken for three nights, mold was spreading around the tub, the fittings were rusty and damaged, and the toilet wouldn’t flush properly. The place seems to be falling apart despite its talk of a designer renovation. Breakfast was just as bad. We arrived at 9:20 on September 13, though service ran until 10:30, and waited a long time to be seated even with two of the six tables dirty and ready for nobody. One had no tablecloth, and the other hadn’t been cleared. This happened again on September 14. Once seated, we found almost no food, just yogurt and fruit, with no bread, croissants, cheese, or ham. There weren’t enough clean cups or utensils, so we had to fetch some from the drawers ourselves. After half an hour, all we’d received was tea and coffee. We left and paid €35 for breakfast at a nearby café. The dining room had a surreal feel, with guests in pajamas and one woman in what looked like a slip or nightdress, accompanied by two children. One child was partly undressed, with a bare bottom, unwashed, and running around. We’d stayed at Marquis Faubourg Saint-Honoré twice before. This third visit will be the last. When we raised the problems at reception, nobody apologized or explained anything. They just seemed indifferent, then said nothing more. This doesn’t feel like a five-star hotel, or even a hotel. It’s neglected behind a luxury facade, and I’d tell people to stay elsewhere.
