Hôtel Mistral

I picked this hotel because I had an early train the next morning, and being right by the station worked perfectly. They were able to check me in early because a room was available, and the staff gave me a great dinner recommendation. Everyone was really friendly. The hotel was great and very quiet.

The staff and service were great, and I liked the clean, pleasant room even though it was tiny. Breakfast tasted delicious, but the selection was limited and exactly the same every morning. Some fresh vegetables would've been nice. I was recommended Montparnasse, and that turned out to be a good choice. The location was good too. I'd recommend the hotel.

We chose the area hoping for somewhere with more Parisians and fewer tourists, if that's possible in Paris. The rooms are small by European standards, but they and the bathrooms were clean and nicely designed. We took the breakfast plan and were happy with the food, and there's a patio off the breakfast room. Drinks and snacks are available in the afternoon and evening. The Hotel Mistral really showed us how much good staff matter. Everyone was kind, friendly, positive about their work, and wonderful to deal with.

What really made the Mistral stand out was the warm, considerate service. I've rarely met hotel staff who were so thoughtful. We loved our stay and will try to come back. The hotel is literally a stone's throw from Montparnasse Cemetery. It's quiet, tastefully renovated, and good value, especially if you find a good online price. The rooms are Parisian-sized, spotless, and nicely decorated. The breakfast bar was lovely, with a changing selection of quality local produce. The hotel also has historical relevance.
