Montmartre Residence Paris

It was our first visit to Paris, and arriving early with young kids and luggage could have been a hassle. They let us check in early, which made a huge difference. The place was clean and roomy, close to the Metro, a supermarket, cafés, restaurants, and the basilica. The service was excellent.

We’ve been to Paris several times, but staying in the 18th at Montemartre Residence has become one of our favorites. The neighborhood has a village feel, with plenty of places to eat, shop for groceries, and browse boutiques and vintage stores. Rue des Abbesses is right there, Abbesses Metro is about two minutes away, and we found it easy to get into the center by Metro. Sacre Coeur Basilica is a short walk uphill, with Place du Tertre nearby too. We never needed a taxi or Uber. Our one-bedroom apartment was bright, comfortable, clean, and nicely furnished. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a dishwasher, Nespresso, microwave, coffee maker, and kettle. The bed and linens were lovely, and the bathroom had good lighting, storage, fluffy towels, strong water pressure, and plenty of hot water. There’s a washing machine, though no dryer. We also appreciated having an elevator, and the management were kind and professional. We ordered the continental breakfast for our first morning, and it was plenty for two. We’d happily come back.

We loved how Montmarte felt like a real neighborhood away from the busiest tourist areas, and I’d happily stay here again. The views and amenities were great, and the apartment itself was much better than we expected. The air conditioning wasn’t switched on yet, but opening the windows kept it comfortable. There’s also a wonderful gluten-free bakery up the street, La Manufacture du Sans Gluten.

The staff went out of their way to make check-in smooth, even staying late for us. For a first visit to Paris, this was a great base, close to cafés, shops, and sights. Our room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. I’ll stay here again when I’m back.
