Novotel Belleville Paris 20 Hotel

The breakfast had a good, broad selection, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Even so, this felt more like a good 3-star hotel than a real 4-star one. My room carpet had dirt on it, and I’d booked for one person but got a room with a bunk bed. I didn’t like that because there was nowhere to sit and work. I couldn’t get a bar receipt with my tax details, the stairs smelled awful, the shower leaked badly, and there was mold in it.

I was here for work this week, and the service was friendly and helpful. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable, with a nice view of the tops of some Paris monuments. The metro station nearby made the location really convenient, and I found a few nice little bars and restaurants less than five minutes away.

Shops and restaurants are nearby, and it’s a 30-minute walk to Le Marais. The hotel is very close to M2, has good facilities, and serves a standard French breakfast. It was good value for money and a good stay overall. Street noise on the weekend went on almost all night and made it hard to sleep. The windows sound as though they’re open when they’re closed, though room temperature itself wasn’t a problem. Better noise insulation would make this an 9.2 instead of an 8.

Amantu at the breakfast restaurant was extremely nice, professional, and efficient. He took great care of us, and we’d rate him highly. The breakfast selection, though, was very limited and could have been much better. It would disappoint by normal hotel standards, especially at a Novotel. The hotel itself was decent, with everything we needed for a short trip and nothing too extravagant. The location was amazing, right across from the metro, in a lively area with lots of places to eat. Getting around the city was very easy and convenient.
