Getting around the Paris metro was painful because there were no escalators or elevators. I suffered terribly and came home with awful knee pain, especially in my right knee. Accessibility needs to be restored immediately. Otherwise, the system should be closed for however long it takes to fix it.

There are lots of places to visit near the station, and the connections are very good. You can also get bus number 80 there.

I was given incorrect advice at the information counter about an airport ticket (CDG, 14€) and ended up with a hefty fine. Wouldn’t recommend.

The Paris Metro’s ticketing needs to be much simpler. I had trouble reloading my pass, and my girlfriend couldn’t add tickets to hers, so we had to go to the service desk to sort it out. For a major city, the process shouldn’t be so confusing or inconsistent. I’ve traveled a lot and used public transit all over the world, but this was one of the most frustrating systems I’ve encountered. The DC Metro is much more straightforward and user friendly.

This aboveground metro stop gives the nearby area a clean, efficient service. It can look really picturesque at night, when the pretty lights brighten up the surrounding area.
