Residence Plican Paris 1er

We found the apartment clean and well equipped after going up a flight of stairs, and checking out was easy. It's also only a short walk from Louvre Museum. But the entrance and office looked scruffy, with dirty walls that needed painting, and we nearly left as soon as we saw them. We arrived late and only found the place because a staff member was outside and called us over. None of us slept well, and I got bitten twice after sleeping on the sofa bed.

The place itself was nice, but I kept getting strange texts asking for my passport and credit card details, and they tried to charge me twice. I'd booked through Expedia, so I knew the stay was already paid for. No one was there to welcome us either, and we had to call to get the door code.

The stairs were extremely narrow and steep, difficult even for us despite being fit, and probably impossible for many people. Inside, the apartment felt very dirty, with a strong mold smell that kept me awake. It looked as if it hadn't been painted or updated in a good 20 years. I can't recommend it at all.

The location was perfect for walking to Louvre every day. The apartment was pretty spacious for Paris, and the rooms were nice and clean, though the kids' bed was kind of uncomfortable. Getting in was a hassle: we were supposed to receive a code by text, but it never came, so we waited two hours before we could get to our room.
