Residhome Paris Gare de Lyon - Jacqueline De Romilly

Our room for four was warm, quiet, clean, very spacious, and nicely decorated, and the hotel is near the metro. But there was no housekeeping after check-in, and the pillows were really hard and uncomfortable. The staff need improvement too. Two people at reception smelled so bad we couldn’t stand being near them for even two minutes, which was unacceptable. They weren’t helpful either. The light switch was broken, so the lights in our room wouldn’t turn off, and nobody cared.

The hotel and its location are lovely. The apartments are great, as is the breakfast, and it seems like a great choice for a longer stay in Paris.

We had a nice one-night stop as a family of four, close to Gard de lyon train station. The room itself was clean and nice, though the hotel’s carpets could really use replacing. There’s a portable AC unit on wheels that needs to stay near the window. The receptionist was very nice and helpful, and there are restaurants and a Lidl nearby.

The reception lady was absolutely lovely, and everything was very clean. She even switched our room when she realized I was travelling with my brother, not my husband, so we could have two beds instead of one. We stayed for one night in August 2024, and the hotel is within walking distance of Gare de Lyon. For its star rating and location, it’s a really good hotel. I’d recommend it.
