Hotel Saint-Marc

The staff made a real difference when I lost something. They took the time to track it down, and without their help my trip would have been a mess. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful throughout my stay. The hotel was spotless, probably one of the cleanest I've stayed in, and the decor made it feel cozy and welcoming. The location was close to everything I needed. I'd highly recommend it for the service and a really enjoyable stay.

The breakfast was generous, with a broad mix of sweet and savory choices to suit different tastes and dietary preferences. It was a filling way to start the day. The hotel is also close to the city center, so local attractions, restaurants, and cultural sites were easy to reach once I was done with business. I was there for one night on a business trip and had a spacious top-floor room, which was a quiet place to unwind and sleep after travel and meetings. The room was thoughtfully equipped, and the shower was a particular highlight. Service was consistently smooth: the staff were attentive, kind, and helpful. Hotel Saint-Marc is a strong option for business or city visits if you're looking for comfort and convenience.

The location was fantastic, and the wine list was great, even if it was small. What made me want to book again, though, was how kind and helpful the front desk staff were. I had a beautiful stay at Hotel Saint-Marc. The bar chairs could be more comfortable. Also, several shower-head nozzles were blocked, so water sprayed in every direction and the head needed a deep clean. Those were small issues, and everything else was fab.

My child’s flight was canceled, and they canceled the hotel stay in the middle of the night, just under an hour after the 24-hour cutoff, so more than 23 hours before check-in. The travel agent confirmed in writing that the cancellation had gone through with no charge. Days later, we found the hotel had quietly charged the full amount without telling us. We contacted them several times to explain the misunderstanding and ask them to reconsider. They showed no empathy or flexibility, or even basic courtesy. They said only that they had “lost money,” though it seems unrealistic that a room booked at 2 a.m. and canceled less than an hour later would really have cost them. It’s frustrating to think they might have resold it and still charged my child in full. They wouldn't pass the issue to management and offered no partial refund, credit, discount, or other goodwill gesture. When we pushed, the gist of the answer was, “This is the French way, deal with it.” That says enough. To me, this isn't hospitality. The business seems to put money ahead of people, even when there's been a clear mix-up and unavoidable travel disruption. I'm actively telling friends, family, and coworkers going to Paris to stay far away. There are plenty of other nearby hotels that treat guests with empathy and basic decency. If your plans might change or you value flexibility and understanding, don't book here. Money is all they care about, not their guests.
