Timhotel Paris Gare Montparnasse

Service was poor. At 11 pm we asked for towels, but the only worker in the whole hotel couldn’t leave his desk to bring them and told us to come get them ourselves. In the morning we asked for an iron, and he said they had one, but it was with someone at the hotel whose identity he didn’t know. The rooms are much smaller than the pictures suggest, the hotel isn’t very clean, and there’s a strange smell everywhere.

The staff were welcoming and polite, and the location is great, with the metro, bus, and train station right next door. We stayed for a weekend trip to Paris. The room was clean but very basic, and the shower was mouldy and so tiny that washing your hair would be a challenge. The place needs some renovation. It was the beginning of November, but the heating wasn’t on, and I couldn’t find a dial in the room.

The breakfast selection was nice, and the location worked well for us, with the nearest metro about a five-minute walk away. The rooms and bathroom are very small, though, and the lift barely fits two people with two suitcases.

Staff were helpful, and it was handy to have free luggage storage. The hotel was very clean, had air conditioning, and offered generous check-in and check-out times. Great location too.
