Hôtel Westside Arc de Triomphe

The team is what made the place special. Daniel at the front desk was one of the nicest people, and Laurent, the manager, took good care of the hotel. When the elevator had a problem, he arranged for a mechanic to fix it as soon as possible, even though it was summer and people were away on holiday. Housekeeping was outstanding, with clean towels, a robe, good soap, and a very sweet cleaning lady. I booked at the last minute for my Paris visit, hoping to stay on avenue des ternes closer to Arc de Triomphe, and I wasn’t disappointed. The walks to where I needed to go were long, but that was fine. Breakfast was plentiful, and there’s a great outdoor market one block away if you’re after something special. Tea, coffee, and fresh water were available in the lobby all day. I didn’t try the pool because I prefer cold water. See you soon.

The staff were friendly, but the rest was pretty basic. The rooms are small, and my bathrobe was soaking wet in the tiny wardrobe. There were cracks in the room, it didn’t feel very clean, and I found hair in the shower. Breakfast was simple too. I wouldn’t recommend it, though I suppose it depends on what you’re okay with.

We visit Paris at least once a year, and this is a great little hotel. It’s in a good, quiet location, the staff are very friendly, and the lovely little breakfast gets the day started well.

For a city break, the location is handy, near Arc de Triomphe and Metro line 1. Staff were friendly, and the room was clean and quite large for Paris. The walls are very thin, though, so I could hear the TV and voices from the next room. Breakfast let me down. The food wasn’t good quality, and I had the impression it wasn’t fresh: the cheese and meat, for example, were already dry, as if left over from the day before. Still, for the central location and Paris hotel prices, it was good value for money.
