The bed is comfortable, the linen crisp, and the bathroom has been redone. Space is limited, the elevator is quirky and only stops between floors, and the walls are rather thin. There’s early morning street cleaning, too. Still, staying here feels like a quintessential Paris experience, a boutique hotel in a historic building. Go for the location, bring the smallest suitcase you can, and enjoy being part of the destination.
The staff feel like family. Even those we hadn’t seen in ten years greeted us with the warmth of a long-awaited reunion. We spent our 40th anniversary here ten years ago, and couldn’t imagine choosing another place for our 50th. We hope to return before our 60th anniversary comes around.
Everything was very clean and organized, and the staff helped us with our bags. It’s a classy hotel with well-appointed rooms, though they were really small.
There are so many restaurants nearby, and the area is lively, bustling, and full of locals. The staff were excellent, friendly, and attentive. They suggested places for dinner, and the buffet breakfast was nice. The hotel was the most budget-conscious choice on our 11-day trip through France, but we weren’t disappointed. It’s small and charming, with clean, well-appointed rooms and nice bathrooms. The rooms aren’t huge, and the elevator is tiny, but it worked fine. There’s no metro stop on the island itself, though one is a short walk over the bridge.
The staff made everything easy. Check-in was a breeze, booking a driver to anywhere was incredibly simple, and everyone was welcoming and polite. After checkout I realized I’d left some very important things in my room. The staff found them, set them aside, and are mailing them all the way to the US so I can get them back ASAP. The building is cozy, comfortable, and chic, with a lot of historic charm. Its location is superb, and you can easily walk to so many places. It’s especially welcoming if this is your first time in Paris or you don’t speak much French. Honestly, it’s a true Paris treasure and better than many four-star hotels I’ve stayed in. I’d go back in a heartbeat and recommend it.
