WS Opéra - Rossini

The bathroom flooded whenever we showered, and the air conditioning barely worked. For two mornings in a row, drilling started at 7 or 8 am. It sounded as if they were drilling into the bedroom, which was unacceptable. We were told we'd get a refund for one night, but then they changed their minds. Really disappointing.

We had a lovely three-night stay. The apartment was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the mini-kitchen had what we needed, including a Nespresso coffee maker. Lafayette was nearby, and the neighbourhood felt good and secure. There's a bistro on the ground floor with good food and nice people, which we enjoyed. The entry felt very modern and safe, with codes for the entrance door, building, group of rooms, and our room. There was some noise, perhaps from the heating, and the bathroom had no ventilation. The room was warm, though, and those drawbacks didn't bother us much over a short stay. For a longer visit, they'd be worth considering. We enjoyed our time and recommend the place.

Drilling next door ran from 8 am until 5 pm, so it was unbearable to sleep or even stay in the apartment. The management team were difficult to deal with and went back on the refund they'd offered.

We ended up booking another hotel after the manager told us we couldn't sleep on the used, dirty bedlinen and suggested we find somewhere else. He said he'd call in the morning about reimbursing our extra costs, but nobody called. This all started when we checked in and found the room hadn't been cleaned after the previous guests. The sheets and towels had been used. I told the manager, who promised to contact the cleaning service and get back to us, but didn't. Since then I've called almost every day to ask for a refund for the room we paid for but couldn't use. Each time they promise a callback, and it never comes. This is the worst service I've ever experienced.
