The nearby bakery and shops made the stay even more convenient, and the lift to the slopes is only a short walk away. I was in France for the first time and stayed here to ski around Les Arcs, and felt comfortable throughout. The owners and staff were very kind, the breakfasts were heartwarming, and dinner felt luxurious. It was my best skiing experience ever.
Celine made us feel welcome right away, and was friendly and professional. We were a family of four with a small dog, and would happily book again. Breakfast was delightful, with fresh products every morning, and the restaurant served excellent food at a very reasonable price. Greg's Bar downstairs was a great place for drinks. I'd recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the area.
The quiet village has a quick, convenient, scenic lift that takes you up to all the ski areas. The guests we met were friendly, considerate people from various countries, too. La Tarine is a nice, traditional family-run three-star place in an Alpine village. Celine is helpful and thoughtful, and clearly manages things efficiently. The staff are cheerful and friendly. They readily help arrange services like lift passes and discounted ski hire. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable, and the traditional mountain food is nicely cooked and served in a cosy dining room.
We loved our stay at Chalet La Tarine. Celine was friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were great. It's about five minutes from the basket lift to the main chair lifts. We also enjoyed pool and pizza at Greg’s bar.
The village is small, charming and authentic, with lovely mountain views. The lift is easy to reach and ride to Vallandry, where you can start what I think is the area's best skiing. I've stayed here twice, in 2015 and again in April 2022, and we really like the place. It's well maintained, rooms are cleaned daily, and the showers have strong pressure and plenty of hot water. The owners are welcoming and very friendly. Breakfast is self-service and sets you up nicely for a day on the slopes. At the hotel restaurant, the meals are tasty and good value, with enough choice to keep things varied for a week. We ordered sandwiches to take skiing each day, and with drinks from the nearby Sherpa supermarket, we could keep going without stopping for an expensive mountain lunch. Some reviews mention small bedrooms. They're not huge, but at about 10m2, they're fairly described and have what you need. To me, they offer excellent value, since the hotel probably costs at least half what you'd pay in Vallandry or Arcs 1600 and 1800. Both our stays were near the end of the season, when the bar was closed or almost closed. We did try the beers, though, and they were cold and tasty. If your routine is breakfast, skiing, a shower, some drinks, dinner and bed, then repeat the next day, this place works well. It's at least half the price of a hotel further up the mountain.
