Quality Saint-martin

Our one night stay, from 15 to 16 August, was very good apart from one serious problem. The Studio was spacious, had a kitchenette and an en-suite bathroom, and was accessible for disabled people. The bed was comfortable, but it hadn’t been changed and was covered in hair. That was absolutely unacceptable. We told reception, and they dealt with it properly straight away by changing the bed. They also gave us a plate of charcuterie as compensation, which we appreciated. The property is in a gated community that also has a retirement home, with secure and plentiful parking. It’s beautifully located near Clermont-Ferrand and the Central Massif with the Puy-de-Dôme. The receptionist also gave us great advice to eat at the restaurant on the mountain above the accommodation, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The highway is close, but far enough away that we couldn’t hear it. The apartments are really nice, with lovely views and a peaceful gated area. There are hiking routes on the hills behind the hotel.

We’ve stayed here before, and it won’t be our last visit. It feels luxurious to me, with everything you need. We’ll definitely come back when our schedule allows.

We picked this hotel mainly for the pool and sauna. At about 5:30 pm, just ten minutes after getting into the pool, we spotted excrement in the water. A couple and two children were there. We got out immediately and told reception. I called three times to ask what was happening. Each time I was told the manager would call me back, but they never did. After more than a week, I had to call again myself. The manager finally answered and brushed off the incident, saying it wasn’t their responsibility and that we’d “enjoyed” the pool enough, despite being in for only 10 minutes. There was no goodwill gesture, sincere apology or concern for the obvious health risk. For a hotel that presents itself as welcoming, that lack of customer service and respect for hygiene standards is unacceptable.
