After cycling Col du Tourmalet, we stayed here and really enjoyed the personal, direct way the owners treated us. They put a lot of effort into making a vegetarian meal: a big pot of pasta with delicious ratatouille and fresh salad, as if it had just come from the garden. We loved it. The location is lovely, and the owners have big hearts. The rooms are simple but have everything you need and were very clean.

The name means “House of the Bear.” The scenery is magnificent, and the hotel is cosy, with friendly, helpful staff and beautiful home-cooked food. Walkers and hikers like it for its access to stunning wilderness.

The beds were comfortable, and although the rooms were basic, they were mostly clean. The woman looking after the place that night was friendly and helpful. She replaced our drinks, which were over a year past their date, with some that were due to expire the following month, so at least those were safe to drink for now. She also gave us local information in the morning. Sadly, the hotel wasn't well kept during our stay, and the corridors smelled of sewage. With more care from the owner or manager, this could be a real little gem, but I can't recommend it in the condition we found it.

The place is quiet and has a really nice atmosphere. The beds are comfortable, and sharing an aperitif by the cheminée with the owners and other guests is always a pleasure. The traditional dinner was really nice too. You'll need a car.

A very nice small hotel near Pic du Midi de Bigorre. We tried the menu of local, authentic dishes at dinner and found it delicious. Local beer and other souvenirs are available to buy too.
