B&B Temps Suspendu Provence

Pernes-de-la-Fountaines is a lively village without the crowds or rush, and Le Temps Suspendu is tucked away on one of its tiny streets. You can walk to the restaurants, fountains, Roman bridge, fruit shop, bakery, and the ice cream shop, with its outdoor tables under big sycamores. The post office and bank are just down the street. It’s a great place to visit in its own right. The B&B has been made from a village home that Patrick and Cecile, a young Belgian couple, renovated into a lovely hideaway. They and their children live in one part, while guests use the main part. From the little street, you enter a front room. Upstairs is straight ahead, and an arched doorway on the left leads to the breakfast room. There’s also a 24-hour coffee room and a back yard with chaise lounges and a pool. To the right, a passage leads to their private quarters. Breakfast is from 8:00 to 10:00, with fresh breads and rolls from the bakery a block away. Patrick and Cecile are quick to answer questions and will sit down with you to mark maps and point out places to see in Provence. The village is well placed for visiting Gordes, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, and other spots in the Luberon region of Vaucluse. Patrick can arrange vineyard and dinner reservations, and even loaned us his Tom-Tom for navigation. You’ll be well looked after. We waited years to get to Provence, and Le Temps Suspendu made the trip everything we’d dreamed of. This is a Shangri-La. You won’t be disappointed. Say “Hi” to Patrick and Cecile! Donna and Bruce

The location is great, and the hosts were lovely. We also enjoyed the nice rooms, garden, and pool, plus an amazing breakfast. Really recommend it!

Michael and Sonia really know the villages around Pernes-les-fontaines and can point you toward restaurants, markets, and interesting places away from the most touristy spots. They’re incredibly helpful and give you an insider’s view. The house has been lovingly renovated and the grounds are beautifully kept, with a pool and a breakfast patio. It’s a private, peaceful setting, and breakfast is a real treat: fresh bread and pastries, eggs made how you like them, cheese, homemade jams, cakes, pancakes, and crepes.

The rooms are lovely, and the linens smell of Provence. It’s so peaceful here, with a terrace that worked perfectly for remote work. Sonia and Michael made us feel very welcome and were always there when we needed anything. A timeless stay right in the heart of Pernes-les-Fontaines. We’ll be back!
