B&B HOTEL Perpignan Sud Porte d'Espagne

Our booking included breakfast, but in the morning we were told it wasn't possible. No one explained why. They suggested going to another B&B hotel 15 minutes away, which we obviously didn’t do. We’d already seen the buffet before checking in at reception, and it looked bare bones, so we got our money back. Still, not being able to have the breakfast we’d booked was very disappointing. It was too hot to sleep in either of the two upstairs beds because the room’s AC didn’t work as it should. It seemed too weak to reach the whole room. The bathroom door lever almost came off when pulled, and the shower was far too small for an adult over 6'0" (180 cm). After the response: The AC was not good at all. Maybe it was only our room, but it was very poor.

It’s a motel-style place, with rooms that are on the small side but fine for a night’s sleep during a long drive. The location is handy near the highway. Best of all, there are a couple of really good bakeries nearby with excellent pastries and sandwiches.

Nothing luxurious, but it worked perfectly for an overnight stop with our two dogs. There are nice walks for them around the hotel, check-in was quick and easy, and parking was very easy too.

We stop here three times a year while travelling to our home in Spain, often with our dog. The rooms are clean, and the wet room shower means you don’t have to climb into a bath, which is good for disabled guests. There are enough plugs for charging a phone or making a hot drink in your room, though you’ll need to bring your own kettle. Shower and hand soap are provided, along with soft towels.
