The gated parking was a real plus, since it felt safe to sleep there. They also had EV chargers, though they might not be working until October. The hotel was fairly priced, and the breakfast buffet was decent. I expected less, actually. To be honest, it feels more like a motel.

It was handy to have only a short walk from the parking area to the room. The staff were just what I'd expect from French staff, so it was hard to tell how irritated they were by having foreign guests. The air conditioning barely helped on days above 30-35°C. Breakfast didn't feel worth about €12 per person, though I suppose it might be a decent deal if you book it with the room.

At breakfast, I asked for a plate for my bread and cheese and was asked, "What for?" I don't mind simple service, but if everyone can touch the milk jug, I don't see why I couldn't have a clean plate. I've stayed in other hotels where a staff member serves breakfast so guests don't handle everything themselves. That seems like a sensible Covid measure. Questioning my request was just poor service. The bedroom was in bad shape too. The curtains had holes, the shower wall had yellow stains, and the two of us were given just one towel for both showers and our hands. When we asked for another, we were told it was a Covid measure. Really, one towel for all that? I'd spent 15 days traveling in France and hadn't seen this anywhere else.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and deserve a better place to work. The property was shabby and in poor repair, with a stained carpet, bathroom fittings coming away from the wall, and doors that didn't fit properly. I know it's only a cheap motel, but even by Camponile standards it wasn't good.
