We were meant to set off at 7 a.m. for a 1200-kilometer drive, and after this night I barely slept. First the fire alarm went off at 00:30 a.m. I waited a few minutes, then, since we were on the fifth floor, got dressed and checked the stairwell floors for smoke. There was nobody around, not even in the lobby, until an old man came out of the office and mumbled that everything was OK. We went back to bed, but barely half an hour later the alarm sounded again, maybe around 1:30 a.m. I went down to reception, where there was still no staff. Guests started gathering with some of their luggage, angry and unsure whether the building was on fire, but nobody told us anything. I spotted movement on a security camera monitor and realized it was the same man in the office. I yelled for him to come out. After a while he did, and we finally heard that someone had been smoking in their room. Twice! The staff couldn't have prevented the first incident, but they should have removed the person or called the police. Instead, they let it happen again. It made for a very long day of driving, and I can't express how unhappy I am.

Good value for money and a great spot for the city. My window also had a nice view. The desk staff were very friendly, and my room was small and basic but clearly recently updated and very clean. For the price, it was as good as expected, maybe better. The odd thing was the separate toilet, while the sink and shower were in the main room beside the bed. Depending on who you're travelling with, that could be awkward.

They charged me twice, and I've been waiting over two months for a refund. Maybe someone in management will see this and help me.

The renovation looks great, though my room smelled of smoke. Best regards to the senior man who checked me in. He was French, but helped me very well in English and Spanish, and welcomed me with a smile.
