ibis Perpignan Sud Saint Charles

We've stayed in several Ibis budget hotels, but this one was catastrophic. At reception the man just said, “See for yourself,” and didn't make us feel welcome. The air conditioning didn't work, and breakfast was unhygienic, with flies on the food and no knife for cutting cheese. Were we supposed to use our own? There were cockroaches in the yard too, and it's a short trip inside for them. No, no, no!

We decided against breakfast because they wanted an extra €60 for two adults and four children, on top of the €120 we paid for two rooms. The shower doors need attention too, since they open while you're showering and let water run onto the floor. You get what you pay for.

Friendly host and simple rooms with a shower and toilet. It's close to the highway and easy to reach, so we stayed here on the way to Spain. To those leaving negative reviews, you get what you pay for. :)

There's plenty of outdoor parking, and the hotel is quiet at night despite being on an industrial estate. It's easy to reach from the motorway, with distant views of the Pyrenees. The place looks modest from outside, but the staff were excellent, the bed was very comfortable, and the atmosphere was friendly. We had soup and salade campagnarde in the restaurant, both very good, and there was also a choice of plat du jour. We'll definitely stay again.
