Les Cagettes en Ville

Everything worked as it should, and it’s a great place to stay in Perpignan.

Florence greeted us warmly and was friendly and attentive throughout. We had a peaceful, lovely night at "Les Cagettes en Ville," surrounded by a charming vintage feel. Our attic apartment had plenty of room for all six of us, and the bedding was very comfortable. Breakfast was generous and worked for everyone. We also enjoyed browsing the little shop downstairs, full of beautiful antique fabrics and unique creations. A real gem, and we'd be glad to return. Thanks for such a lovely stay.

The apartment I stayed in is in a deeply deteriorated state, with a level of neglect that I find unacceptable and unsanitary. Photos show extensive damp and water infiltration across the walls and ceiling, with bubbling, cracks, and worrying brown stains. This is not just ugly; it could create health concerns, including mold and stale air. The woodwork and fixtures are badly worn too, with rotten, cracked wood visibly damaged by moisture, and rusted fittings that point to neglected upkeep and safety. I complained repeatedly, yet the landlord tolerated these conditions. In my view, they fall far below the standards required for rental housing and make the apartment unfit for decent living, with possible long-term health risks. This reflects, to me, an irresponsible landlord and an apparent willingness to take advantage of vulnerable tenants, without regard for legal obligations.

Florence is incredibly attentive, and the garden is lush when in season. The rooms feel warm and welcoming, with carefully chosen furnishings and materials that bring different eras together. Every object is beautiful and cleverly repurposed, with a purpose beyond simply being functional.
