Roz Marine Thalasso Resort

Don't just turn up without planning. We booked through Booking and got a surprise on arrival: the spa requires specific items they don't provide, including bath shoes, a cap, and speedos. Normal swim trunks aren't allowed. Parking is very limited, and the hotel has no deal with any other secure car park, so you're left searching for street or public parking. The fitness room has only cardio equipment, no weights or weight machines. Breakfast ends very early, at 10.

The language barrier was a real challenge for us. The staff had limited English, and the menus and other information were only in French. They tried to make themselves understood with gestures, which was kind of them, but not ideal for a hotel of this standard. Housekeeping could be more thorough too: the place was generally clean, but the mirrors were dusty and daily cleaning seemed rushed. Still, Roz Marine is a lovely beachfront hotel, with inviting decor, well-appointed rooms, and a peaceful spa offering a range of treatments. A great spot for a relaxing seaside stay if you're prepared to manage the language hurdle.

We had a beautiful room overlooking the sea, with a large, comfortable bed and very good bedding. The bathroom and room were laid out really well, and the shower had strong pressure. The spa has pools, steam, a sauna, and special showers. The bar was friendly and had a good range of drinks. Lovely hotel, we'd definitely recommend it and look forward to coming back.

My parents had a great time at the thalasso experience I gave them. But poor hotel management nearly made them pay again for massages I'd already covered. The same confusion came up at the restaurant: I'd bought full board, but they weren't told on arrival it only covered certain menu items, so they were charged an extra €50.
