A very basic, budget-friendly hotel, with friendly staff.

I travel a lot and stay in plenty of hotels, but this was the worst one I’ve experienced. I spent two nights getting bitten all over. At the pharmacy, they said bed bugs or dust mites were quite likely, and the photos show what I found. When I told the manager, he said, “Yes, bed bugs happen,” like it was normal. He also refused a room refund, saying it wasn’t a valid reason. I can’t reply to the Google review, so I’m editing this to warn people to avoid the hotel. This isn’t airing my dirty laundry, as you put it. After those two nights, I took my clothes and bag to a laundromat so I wouldn’t bring anything home. Bed bugs show up in places that aren’t clean or maintained. Around 8:30 p.m., someone also asked me to move my car to the square next door, and I haven’t even mentioned the state of the room. Before complaining about bad reviews, look at the hotel and the feedback it’s had. You’re lucky I’m not reporting you to the hygiene department.

There was nobody around during the two days I was there, so I can’t really comment on the service. The room itself was in rough shape, with old fixtures, a broken sink, an outdated shower curtain, and a musty, old smell as soon as I walked in. Housekeeping wasn’t great either. The bathroom felt cramped, and its wall didn’t fully close off from the bedroom, which wasn’t ideal when using the toilet. Parking was limited. Since it’s in the city centre, delivery drivers woke me very early, and with only a fan and no air conditioning, I had to sleep with the windows open to get some relief from the heat. I couldn’t have stayed more than one night. The room quality didn’t justify the price, and I won’t be back. I’m editing this because I can’t reply to the response. It’s a shame the owners won’t acknowledge the condition of the place or use the many negative reviews to improve it. Apparently it’s easier to say customers are acting in bad faith. Most places use feedback to make things better, but you seem to think your hotel is already luxurious enough. Reviews let people know what to expect; leaving one isn’t harassment. I don’t usually post a negative review unless I think it’s justified, and the photos speak for themselves. People booking at that price deserve to know what they’ll find. Also, the people leaving bad reviews over the years can’t all be part of the same family. 😉

If zero stars were an option, I’d give that. Bedbugs in the bedding turned the night into a nightmare. I’d booked two nights but only stayed one. I found them at 12:30 a.m. and felt I had no choice but to stay that first night instead of fleeing. After I called to confirm what I’d found, the owner came by in the morning and quickly spotted them when he pulled off the sheets. I was surprised he already had a spray bottle in hand, since he supposedly hadn’t known about the bedbugs. I got a refund for only one of the two nights, and the room was rented to someone else after me. They said the new guests hadn’t complained, which made it sound like I was just being “difficult.” An acquaintance rented another room and found a similar suspicious stain on the box spring. We left and paid ourselves for somewhere else for the second night. The owner said he found nothing in that room and gave no refund, making us out to be liars. He did admit he’d found something in another guest’s room, though. Unacceptable and dishonest, stay away. I’m not making this up, I have the photo.

Thankfully, our family only stayed for a short night. The hotel felt deserted, with nobody at reception when we arrived or left. We had to call the number they provided to find out our room number and where the keys had been left. The place was poorly maintained: tiles in shared areas were broken or badly glued, the floors in the rooms were uneven, and the carpeting wasn’t properly stuck down. We knew there was no air conditioning, but in that intense heat even two fans would have helped. Parking was just as frustrating. We couldn’t find a space, and the spots are so narrow you’d be taking a risk unless you have a motorcycle or a Smart car.
