Domaine De L'Émeraude

Château La Poste was a wonderful base for our Bordeaux area trip, just 15 minutes from Saint Emilion. The house has seven bedrooms and bathrooms, though we only used five, and the price was still good. It also has a heated, covered saltwater pool, a big wood steam sauna, a workout space with a few machines, a pool table and ping pong. There's a pond on the large property, along with the vineyard. We loved the wine they make there. They welcomed us with a bottle, and there are more available to buy at home, at very reasonable prices. We rented electric bikes and rode around the countryside and vineyards. We also hired a car at the Bordeaux train station to visit the Medoc Appellation and some of its Chateaux. Nearby, Château Pressac was gorgeous, and we really enjoyed the visit and tasting. The house is five minutes from the train station, with a 40 minute ride to Bordeaux. We had a chef come to the Château and cook a fantastic French meal. We also visited St. Emilion, which is a must. Take the tour of the monolithic church and learn about the village, the history is fascinating. The lovely couple who run this family's high quality home were very accommodating with a few requests before we booked. We booked directly with them, which was considerably cheaper than VRBO.
