Villa Des Mascareignes

After hiking to the summit of Piton des Neiges, we had a wonderful stay here. Olivier & Audrey share their lovely home with guests, and their smiles are as welcome as all the other amenities. We hope we can come back one day.

We ended up staying in several highly rated places on Reunion, and this was the highlight. Olivier made us feel welcome throughout and gave us useful travel advice each morning. His English was great, which can be hard to find in Reunion. The place was spotless and full of thoughtful details, including a book of suggested local itineraries. Audrey cooked a delicious home made dinner that felt like having a private chef, and our breakfasts were wonderful too, served by our hosts on the balcony. We were in the Soufflé Austral room, with large open windows facing the ocean and double doors opening onto the balcony. Screens let us get fresh air, and there was also an AC unit. The pool was clean and inviting, and the sunset views were unforgettable. Maxi, the friendly dog, was another lovely part of the stay. Roads on the island are tight, and the entrance is on a narrow one way street, so be aware, though we got used to it quickly.

We only had two nights at the villa des mascareignes, which was a pity. Audrey and Oliver gave us a warm welcome and were always ready to help or answer questions. Our room was charmingly decorated and absolutely clean. Breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed the tapas-dinner as well. Even though we had to leave very early, before the usual breakfast time, our hosts put together a little breakfast for us. We'd definitely recommend the Villa.

The hosts were impeccable, and the rooms had tasteful decor. We ate delicious food too. It was a wonderful experience, and we'd gladly recommend staying here to anyone who asks.
