The meals were the highlight for us. We spent three nights at La Vieille Ferme, took cooking lessons with David, and every dinner there was among the best of our lives. Seriously, we’re a tough crowd, and that pork belly was so good I’d get on a plane tonight to eat it again. David also arranged a visit to a cidrerie with a tasting. Allison made sure our rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, and she was a wonderful host who saw to everything we needed. A tip for older guests: pick a room with a walk-in shower. David set up trips to local markets so we could buy ingredients for the lessons and meals, and shared the area’s history, including its role in the D-Day invasion. His recommendation of "The D-Day Experience" in Carentan was a perfect way to finish our time in Normandy. As David's brother Ian, who was visiting then, would say, "we were happy as Larry."

The farmhouse rooms fit the place perfectly and were excellent. Dave and Angela gave us a lovely, warm welcome, with lots of care in the details. Breakfast was a generous spread, served thoughtfully, and we had two dinners where Dave showed off his amazing cooking. We thought everything was perfect. It’s also ideally placed for D Day experiences.

We hadn't planned to eat at the inn during our two-night Normandy history tour, since most of our group didn't know David and Allison offered cooking tours. But we arranged dinner for our second night, and it turned out to be one of the best meals of the whole trip. The setting was charming, and talking with David about the food and how it was prepared made it even better. The place is charming all around, and they’ve done an incredible job bringing it together. Even if you're visiting for something other than the food, don't miss a chance to have a meal there.

There were six of us, three couples, so we had the whole inn during our Normandy visit. The Old Farm of Amfreville was a perfect base for our time in St. Mere Eglise, and we were more than pleased with our stay. The inn is full of charm, well appointed, and has lots of thoughtful extra touches. David and Alyson were lovely hosts. We enjoyed chatting with them about the farmhouse, travel, family, and, naturally, Dave's cooking. Breakfast was wonderful, and we were glad we booked dinner at the inn for our second night. It cost extra, but was more than worth it. We spent three weeks in Europe, and every one of us would put that meal in our top three. If you're anywhere near this beautiful part of France, don't miss the chance to stay at this sweet little inn.

A great base for a D-Day trip. We had a lovely stay, with very cosy bedrooms and extremely comfortable beds. Thanks for the warm welcome, and breakfast was just perfect.
