LOGIS Le Tadorne

That pool was just what we needed after hours in the car, and everyone we dealt with was really friendly. We stopped here on our way back through France and had a lovely stay. Parts of the hotel are dated, but we actually liked that. The restaurant is simple, with good quality food, and the two waitresses were a credit to it. Recommended.

We had a lovely dinner at the hotel and really enjoyed the swimming pool. Le Tadorne was very welcoming to families, and reception greeted us warmly. Our family room was spacious, too. Parking was a little limited, though we found a space without trouble. There seemed to be free parking nearby, and the village was quiet and beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was okay for the relatively low price, though I’d put it at about 2.5 out of 5. Parking is limited, and there were a few cobwebs in our room; it was a bit drafty but nothing too bad. The restaurant was a letdown: limited menu, small portions, and not very kid-friendly. It seemed to be going for gourmet food without quite getting there. Dessert looked like it came scooped from a supermarket tub, with nothing fresh or homemade. Au Champenois down the street might be better.

A veggie set menu is available, which could suit vegetarian diners, though the overall menu range isn’t huge. It’s published on the website, so you can check whether there’s something you like before going. The restaurant is open to non-residents and serves nouvelle cuisine in a small hotel. Staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive, and the dishes were nicely presented and tasted very good. The set ‘Terroir’ dinner is €32 per person and offers reasonable value. Drinks are sensibly priced too, €5.50 for a glass of red wine and €3.10 for coffee. Budget around €40 per person for three courses. Recommended if the menu appeals.
