La Cour Aux Ecureuils

The location and building are nice, but the service spoiled the stay. We were put in the wrong room, with a smaller living room and no view. At checkout they left, then returned 20 minutes later because we still had a few things on the kitchen table. The checkout inspection felt like being treated as a criminal, as though we’d trashed the place, even though we left it in perfect condition. The receptionist was the one bright spot. She tried to smooth over the problems caused by management and the other staff.

Claudia sorted out the few problems we ran into, always with a smile. The place is brand new, with well-appointed apartments, a lovely pool and a great setting. We had a pleasant stay, thank you.

The views are beautiful, and it’s an easy link to La Plagne and Les arcs. These are recently built, nicely presented apartments with great facilities and good cooking gear for self-catering. You can ski in and out, with what is essentially a dedicated chairlift.

The residence is ski-in/ski-out, and getting to the slopes was easy: the exit is very close to the Parchey chairlift. The ski locker room is convenient and comfortable, too. We had one of the nicer apartments, a premium unit for 10 people, around 180 m², if I remember right. It has five double bedrooms, three with private bathrooms, plus another shared bathroom. The apartment is split over two levels. Upstairs there’s a big living room, an open kitchen and one of the bedrooms, and the view is lovely. A couple of things didn’t work so well for a group of 10. The fridge is tiny, especially if everyone isn’t cooking and eating together, and the hob only has three burners.
