Camping La Tourelle

We stayed two nights this time and enjoyed watching the local partridge as it wandered around, sometimes making a strange clicking call. The host was still affable, and the site remains great. On our earlier visit we stopped for one night; the pitches were very good, the facilities excellent, and the welcome relaxed and pleasant. It's a very good site close to the lovely little town of Montcontour.

The clean, well-equipped sanitary block and free WiFi at the small, quiet bar were both good to have. The pitches are a decent size and divided by hedges. It's a super little campsite, about a 15-minute walk from the lovely town, and the man in charge was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Moncontour is a great citadel town to explore. We stayed at the site in mid-June during a cycling and camping trip. It was quiet, probably because it was early in the season, and the place was clean, simple, and very good value. The staff were very friendly and the facilities were good. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area.

There’s a motorhome service area where water and grey and black waste cost €2. The town is about a 20-minute walk away, though the hill is steep, and it’s next to swimming pools in a lovely area for walks and cycling. The pitches are a nice size, all with EHU, for under €9 a night or €11 in high season. This fabulous, very clean site also has a small bar and free WiFi by reception and the bar. The man running it is super friendly. Well recommended.
