We stayed one night before catching the ferry from St Malo. The room was spacious and clean, with an ensuite bathroom and a comfortable bed. The place seems to be a renovated old farm, and the restaurant is large and clearly popular. We had a lovely dinner and the service was great. It's in a quiet rural setting, though you can hear the dual carriageway a little. Getting there from the main road means checking which junction to take. The steep outside stairs to the bedrooms could be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. We preferred it to the bland chain hotels in St Malo.

The restaurant staff were friendly and the dinner was very good. They even brought breakfast at 8:30, earlier than the advertised 9:00 opening, so we could make our 10:30 St. Malo ferry. The room was dated but perfectly usable, the plumbing worked, and I slept well. It feels more like a restaurant with rooms, along the lines of the old Logis Auberge, which suits me fine. One unusual thing: when we arrived at 6pm, they couldn't serve beer until the restaurant opened. I think they said their drinks licence only allowed it then. Our beers were ready at 7pm.

A foggy August lunchtime turned into a real highlight of our trip. We had a superb rib eye, homemade foie gras and fish of the day as part of a three-course meal, with a lovely fire going. It's a little off the tourist trail, and we couldn't have asked for a better taste of local French home cooking. Highly recommended.

We kept coming back in summer 2020 and couldn't fault the place. The Gambas over the embers are worth trying, and booking ahead is a good idea since the locals know it. Kids are catered for too. It's tucked away in the middle of nowhere, but the rustic charm makes the trip worthwhile. On our first visit we had the lunch menu for 15€, which was good value. They cook meat and fish over an open wood fire, with foil-wrapped baked potatoes in the embers. There are four choices each for starters, mains and sweets, all good quality. A nice place to indulge your inner carnivore.

Lovely people, good food and a great atmosphere. It's child friendly too, and handy as a stop while travelling.
