Really lovely.
The setting is gorgeous if country life suits you. It’s wonderfully quiet, and the proprietor gives you room to yourself but somehow shows up right when you need something. My gite is in a beautifully equipped old stone building, with woods, farmland and other stone houses of a similar age all around. The nearest village is about a 20-minute walk. I adore Bretange, though rain is part of the deal here, so most people will probably want a car, or a raincoat and sturdy wellies.
Breakfast was a real treat, especially the local produce and homemade jams. The room was clean and pleasant, and the bed was comfortable. It’s a peaceful, quiet spot. Tiphaine made us feel welcome and had lots of good suggestions for exploring the area and finding beautiful places. We had a wonderful night at her home. Thanks for having us, and we hope we can come back someday. We highly recommend it.
It was such a peaceful place to stay, and meeting the donkey, chickens and tortoise was lovely. Our little girl especially enjoyed the books and games in the clean, practical room. The pool was nice, and breakfast had everything we could want. Tiphaine was welcoming and had plenty of great ideas for exploring the area and seeing lovely places. We had a wonderful stay in her beautiful home. Thanks, and we hope to see you again someday.
The room upstairs has a bathroom with a low ceiling, so being tall could be a problem. Luckily, I'm not tall, and I'd definitely return. I came looking for some peace and quiet and found plenty. The place is lovely and calm, but still close to all the sightseeing. The manager is really friendly, and the pool is fantastic.
