The people were friendly, and it was peaceful with a lovely sea view. The pitches are right on the beach. The restaurant menu is quite limited, with fish and chips and moules. The receptionist didn't know the website mentioned a gym, though there is one: just a rowing machine, so it's very small. Four stars.

We like this site partly because it's quiet, with no nightlife, though shops are a long way away. A waterside pitch in August costs €40+, which seems fair compared with what you'd pay in the UK. The restaurant food is good and very reasonably priced, and there are plenty of showers in the toilet block, with taps dotted around the site. Since the change of ownership and the new name, Camping Liberté Landrellec, little else has changed. Reception is back in its original spot just beyond the barrier. They still close for a long afternoon break and don't reopen until 16:00, so there's often a queue. Motorhomes need to park accurately at the drive-over service point to empty grey water. Water there is now free; previously you had to buy a jeton.

We stayed at the end of May and start of June, so I can't say what it's like during the main French school holidays. The restaurant service was very slow, even with only a few people there. Still, the coastal setting is beautiful, the facilities are good, and the walks along the coast path are great. I'd definitely come back for the peace and quiet. My main gripe is that French dog owners leave mess behind even though bags and bins are provided.

We'd booked ahead but then couldn't make the stay at short notice, so we contacted the campsite to cancel. On the phone, they spoke only French and told us to email. A friend who knows French better called for us and was told cancellation was no problem, and that an email was just needed for verification. We sent it right away and got confirmation. Even so, the full amount was charged to our card. When we asked by email for a refund, the reply in French was fairly unfriendly and said we wouldn't get one. Very poor service. They could, and should, have told us that earlier.

The scenery on this quiet stretch of the North Brittany coast is stunning. The campsite has just the right amount of facilities, and the staff are friendly. We'd love to come back!
