Maison Ploemel, 3 pièces, 5 personnes - FR-1-397-42

We spent six nights here after leaving a very poor Airbnb in Auray. A hotel bedroom cannot compare with a much larger property, but the hotel and especially its staff made our stay very comfortable for us two septuagenarians. Every member of staff was excellent, very friendly, and extremely capable. The hotel was built in the 1980s. It is clean and comfortable, though beginning to look somewhat dated. Like many travelers, we bring several iPads and smartphones, but there were very few working electrical sockets in the rooms for charging them. We enjoyed breakfast and two dinners. The meals were good and reasonably priced. The dinner menu did not change during our stay, so we ate out on three evenings, although the daily menu changed each day.

Lovely room with a great bathroom, recently refurbished. The hotel clearly caters to golfers, and its golf club drying room was very useful. The communal areas could use an update, but everything was very clean overall. Breakfast was excellent. The restaurant was closed on Monday evening, so we had to drive about 20 minutes to Auray.

Although this hotel is not five-star, it is still first class. The rooms are perfectly adequate, and the sauna facilities and food are superb. The husband-and-wife team who take care of your every need are what really make this place. I will return without hesitation.

We received a very warm welcome and enjoyed the lovely swimming pool. The rooms were very clean, though a little warm because there was no air conditioning.
