Lancelot & Spa

The spa was clean, well laid out, and had everything needed for rest and relaxation. Staff were welcoming, well trained, and explained things clearly. Ongoing work on the outdoor pool made it hard to fully enjoy the surroundings. One bathroom door in our room was damaged, but it didn't spoil our stay.

It was quiet, the beds were comfortable even though the single beds had been pushed together, and breakfast was varied, very good, and high quality. The spa area was pleasant, though the water was lukewarm. For a 3-star hotel, I found the lack of security concerning: the place is open, there is no reception, and anyone can walk right in. The standard and deluxe rooms seemed the same, with only a bottle of water and tea added, which in my opinion doesn't justify the price difference. There are also some small details that matter at this level: damp has blackened the window seals, the bathroom seals are yellowed, and the inside of the bathroom door was dirty.

We booked at the last minute while on the road, and you can make a late booking. Reception staff were very friendly. The room was reasonably priced, the bed was comfortable, and the location was quiet, a little further from the Best Western. We had a wonderful meal at the restaurant. It was classy, the food was excellent, and the service was impeccable. We'll see how breakfast is. I recommend this place.

The restaurant was excellent, and the spa was very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. The downside was getting between the Lancelot building and the spa, restaurant, and bar. The route is hard to navigate and can even be dangerous in winter because it's unlit and slippery. This older accommodation also has no dedicated service or reception.
