Château La Rametière

The rooms were large, comfortable, and well appointed, and breakfast each morning was delicious. We also had a nice time chatting with the other guests. Chateau la Rametiere is a magical place in the French countryside, and the house and grounds are breathtaking. Pascale was such a gracious, delightful host. It’s also close to places like Granville, Mont Saint Michele, and the D-Day beaches of Normandy. If you get the chance to meet the château owner, that would complete the stay. My family and I had an unforgettable time there.

Breakfast was fresh, plentiful, and delicious. They ask the evening before what you’d like, so it’s ready when you come down. The team looking after the castle were so kind and helpful, and made us feel at home. Everything, indoors and outside, looked fabulous, with care given to every detail, and it was impeccably clean. We’ll definitely come back!

The tour company that brought us there was disorganized and hadn’t arranged a ride to dinner in the town 9km away. The Chateau staff sorted out transport at the last minute, which was above and beyond. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us warmly. The Chateau is breathtaking, with spacious, grand rooms and such a comfortable bed that you really can relax. I highly recommend a stay here in the French countryside.

We used the guest books to explore like locals, and the restaurant recommendations were spot on. The honor bar was a nice touch, and the hospitality was warm and thoughtful from beginning to end. It felt like a true French experience.
