Peniche Ondine

There’s a lovely terrace with natural light and plenty of storage, and the bathtub had lots of hot water, which felt very romantic. The houseboat is comfortable and has all the amenities: a proper main bedroom, a small single room that’s great for kids, and a sofa bed in the living room. There’s a private, discreet entrance, free parking 30 meters away, Wi-Fi, a washing machine, and a fully equipped kitchen. Definitely worth a visit.

Even with all the rain that weekend, we had a really lovely, peaceful stay on the L’Ondine barge. The wood-burning stove made the warm, homey atmosphere even better. The layout is comfortable, everything is thoughtfully arranged, and the tasteful decor and lovely colors made us feel at home right away. The host was friendly and quick to respond, and he handled our questions and needs without any fuss. We found the Ondine barge easily and had a wonderful time there. It’s an unusual place to stay and extremely pleasant. We recommend it 100%.

The host’s dishes were a treat. We tried the Gaston Gérard chicken and it was delicious. We stayed in the "La Cale" room and were comfortable even with the canal chill in the morning; it had warmed up nicely by late evening. A very pleasant stay, and we’d gladly return.
