I had a disastrous experience with this rental and was compensated by Gîtes de France for the damages. The property differed from its description in several ways: most rooms needed electric lights on constantly, two windows faced a huge wall, the toilet and bathroom smelled musty, some areas such as the closets weren't clean, and the garden was neglected and hard for an average person to access. I was also charged 25% more than the price shown on the organization's website, where this "villa" is no longer listed. It felt as if I wasn't the first to complain, since I was asked to sign a cleanliness waiver on arrival. I should have refused, because I couldn't immediately check whether everything was really clean. The owner should also know that her response to a user's review violates Google's Review Guidelines: she wrote, and I quote, that "some people like to cause harm and feed off criticism to elevate themselves". Other users have also made derogatory remarks about my comment, in violation of those guidelines. That's disgraceful.

I've stayed at this villa for a few years, and it certainly doesn't feel like a slum to me. It's clean and quiet, a little kitsch, sure, but that's part of its charm. The owners have done a lot of work to make stays better, and they haven't tried to make something new out of something old. Maybe a few small things still need improvement, but the picture painted in that other comment is an exaggeration. Free parking in front, a location close to the thermal baths, flexible rental dates, and Mireille's kindness are all pluses. I completely disagree with Mr. Pierre C.'s comment. Can't wait to stay again.
Those little terraces in the back courtyards are a delight, and even the old steps leading up to them were welcome. Some detractors seem to prefer chronic brawls or the concrete and plexiglass housing projects of the Parisian suburbs. Poor souls, I hope you see the sun again in your lives. The staircases almost carry you back to the Napoleonic era and make you want to explore this ancient city, which still has so much going on. After talking with other tenants about this happy little haven in the city of a thousand balconies, we all agreed we'd be back. I'll brush up on my German before we meet again, bis bald! The home has been tastefully restored, keeping the character of this beautiful period building, and the owner welcomed us warmly and sincerely. Everything is set up for comfort, including a children's library. Thank you, Mireille, for your kindness and lovely welcome. See you soon, I promise.
We had a wonderful 15 days at this villa. We're from the north, and the apartment was very clean. The owner was lovely, so I have nothing to complain about. I'd recommend staying here if you're thinking of coming. S and R from the north :)
A lovely romantic break, right in the heart of the Vosges Mountains. We could head out for walks and were close to shops, the thermal baths, and the casino. The accommodation was in perfect condition with everything provided, and the owner had left thoughtful touches for our arrival. Thanks, we'd definitely come back and highly recommend it.
