The room itself was clean and comfortable, with soft sheets and pillows, a good bed, and indoor bike storage. But it felt like the hotel spent more effort on its trendy look than on the little things that make a stay pleasant. We had one cup, a small mug, and just one tea bag; there was no conditioner in the shower, even though this is a spa hotel. A few more teas and some milk in the room, plus a robe and conditioner, would have helped. It also has a very corporate feel, with a conference centre as part of the hotel. We booked online expecting parking, a room, and spa access, then learned at arrival that this offer apparently wasn't available and spa access was only included with a sea-view room. The staff were reasonably helpful and did sort out access for me. I stopped by the spa but didn't use it, as it felt like a cheap corporate version of a spa rather than a luxurious, calming place. Buddha paintings in the lobby weren't enough to make it feel zen, so I just enjoyed a nice hot shower in my room. Not bad, but the price is a little high for what you get.

We paid extra for a room described as “seafront,” but the view was mostly a huge stretch of salt marsh, with the sea a long way off. The description is technically accurate, I suppose, but it felt overpriced for such a remote location. This was our first stay at a Brit-Hotel, and we weren't especially impressed. If you want somewhere that feels like the end of the earth, this is the place.

The restaurant was the highlight for us. The food was amazing and among the best we've had for the price, and breakfast was just as good, with excellent coffee and plenty of choice. The hotel's location is nice, though there wasn't much else that stood out. We were only there for one night, so it's hard to judge properly, and the spa was out of order when we arrived. The staff were really kind and helpful.

After breaking down on holiday, we needed somewhere at very short notice and were looked after so well. We got there after midnight on a Saturday, while a wedding was taking place, and they still made us feel welcome. The welcome continued in the morning, including breakfast at 6:30. The rooms were modern and clean, and breakfast was amazing. Perfect!
