We went late in the season, once the children were back at school, so it was quiet. The campsite has a family pirate theme with plenty of signs of activities for kids. Pitches are a good size and come with their own electricity and water. There’s a bar and cafe at very reasonable prices, a heated pool with covers that can be moved, and good facilities. The staff are lovely. It’s about a mile’s walk to the Alignments.

There wasn't really anywhere to walk to from the campsite, and the busy roads put us off cycling. You need a car for sightseeing, but in peak season parking is hard to find. We were also disappointed with our pitch: we’d booked for a twin axle caravan and car, but it only just accommodated the caravan. Luckily we had a motor mover, or we’d have been stuck, and the car had to be parked away from the van.

Good facilities, entertainment and nice places to visit nearby made this a great camping stay. The one drawback was that the toilets had no seats.

The campsite has lots of trees and friendly people, and the sanitary facilities were clean, with toilet seats and paper provided. The chatty sheep are no bother, lol.

There’s a pool at this nice site, and a cycle track takes you close to Carnac.
