ibis budget Annecy Poisy

I was refused a room without being given a clear reason, even though I had done nothing wrong and wasn't drunk. I was on a road trip to Austria and called around 11:00 PM; the hotel said rooms were available. When I arrived about 30 minutes later, the man at reception was very unfriendly and wouldn't let me stay. I had to find another hotel at midnight, which was stressful. This treatment felt unacceptable and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend the hotel.

The room had very little information, and the breakfast signs need updating. A poster said breakfast ran until 11 a.m., but downstairs I was told it had already finished at 9:30. There were hairs on the bed and in the shower, dust in the hallways, and the overflowing trash outside wasn't a great first impression. It might be okay for a cheap one-night stay if that's all you're after.

The rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was great, and there was free parking as well as a paid garage. The hotel is about a 15-minute drive from Lake Annecy.

For a budget hotel, this place is beautiful, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic, but they worked for us since we were out all day, and they were cleaned daily. If you're not driving, it is a bit far from the centre of Annecy, though bus number 1 takes you there. We found the walk back from the bus stop quite dark at night because the street lights go off after a certain time. Annecy is such a beautiful city, enjoy.
