We were unsure at first because the website says there’s no parking, but a quick call got us a helpful answer. There’s a paid garage right beside the hotel for €6. The staff were lovely, especially the welcoming man from Algeria and the equally kind woman at breakfast. Breakfast was good value too, though I did miss having eggs.

We arrived after midnight because of our travel schedule, and were told the rate for the new day was higher, so we had to pay the difference. We’d already paid the full amount online for our one-night booking. I understand the policy, but wish it had been made clear beforehand. Better notice could have avoided the confusion.

Early morning check-in was possible, which is why I gave it a 6. But after every guest was woken by a fire alarm at midnight, nobody on staff mentioned it or asked how we’d slept before we left. There also wasn’t even a public place to sit after checkout. The manager said they were cleaning, so we had to wait for our taxi outside in the cold.

The room was simple, but clean and comfortable, just what the name suggests. Being so near the train station made it handy for a one-night stop before continuing the journey. I skipped breakfast, so can't say anything about the restaurant food or service.
