ibis Poitiers Centre

The room was comfortable, the hotel very clean, and the staff friendly. It has a good central location and a private car park. But after I'd paid in full, the hotel took another €100 from my account without telling us. I only spotted it later that day and was told the money would be refunded when I asked. Nine days have passed and I'm still waiting. That's a lot of money to have tied up while on holiday. Had I known, I might have used another payment method. I think the lack of notice is appalling, especially with the refund still outstanding, so be prepared.

It's both quiet and central. The car park here is always full, but we found another one very close by, and it was cheap too.

The location is good, and the staff were helpful and friendly, but the room fell well below Ibis standards. It was tiny, the bathroom barely had room to turn around, and the shower kept switching between hot and cold. The single beds were so narrow that as an adult I couldn't roll over without nearly falling off. Everything felt cheap, including the mediocre breakfast. It is inexpensive, but unfortunately I wouldn't come back.

How good the stay felt really depended on the price. I paid very little, so I was happy with it: the location is right in the centre on a quiet street, and the mattress was good. At the usual rate, above 70-80 EUR, I'd have felt differently. The air conditioning was very old, all the towels had holes, and the shower tray in room 208 had a hole that let water leak straight onto the bathroom floor. The place needs refurbishing as soon as possible.
