The place is beautiful and the food is nice, but the service was disappointing. The servers took a long time to bring the menus and take our order, and ignored us when we asked for anything else. I wouldn’t say it’s the best place for foreigners.

We tried the Arancini, grilled octopus, pizza margarita, and tiramisu. Everything came out looking good and tasted fresh and delicious. The pizza was especially good, probably the best in town. It’s a beautiful Italian restaurant in Poitiers, with a striking building and decor. Friendly service, plus plenty of seats across two floors and an outdoor terrace for summer. I’d recommend giving it a try.

Most places weren’t open yet when we were looking for an early evening meal, but Villa Gambetta was already serving and had plenty of people in. They were fully booked for the evening, which seemed like a good sign, yet found room for the two of us in the courtyard. We ordered pizza, and mine was delicious and unlike any I’d had before. The service was excellent. I’d highly recommend it.

A lovely little spot for tasty snacks and coffee to go. It’s also a proper Italian gourmet shop. A bit expensive, but a good one.

On an empty Saturday night, we waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order. They’d put down the menus, then ignored us completely. We left without getting any attention.
