The breakfast was generous and delicious, a real treat. We had a perfect family stay with our children, and the welcome was so warm. Our room was comfortable and very clean, and the beautiful, peaceful setting made it easy to relax. We'd definitely come back.

The pool wasn't very clean, and the wooden barrier felt dangerous. The stairs up to the bedrooms and terrace also seemed makeshift and unsafe. I was disappointed because this didn't feel like what I'd expect from a bed and breakfast. The room was basic, with no kettle, tea bags, coffee maker, or refrigerator, and the bathroom wasn't very clean. €90 seems high for this price.

The swimming pool was a big plus during our wonderful 10-day summer break at L’Alcôve du Velay. We loved the peaceful house and pleasant natural surroundings, and the rooms were clean and well designed. David and Sylvie are what give the guesthouse much of its charm, they're welcoming and helpful. We'd definitely return if we're ever in the area.

Generous breakfasts, and the hosts were charming, pleasant, and easy to talk to. The room was very comfortable, with sublime, peaceful scenery by the pool in a magnificent setting. Excellent, top-notch.
